{"id":610478,"date":"2026-04-28T03:13:12","date_gmt":"2026-04-28T03:13:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/610478\/"},"modified":"2026-04-28T03:13:12","modified_gmt":"2026-04-28T03:13:12","slug":"major-golf-deal-could-impact-clubs-across-houston","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/610478\/","title":{"rendered":"Major golf deal could impact clubs across Houston"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>HOUSTON \u2014 Invited Clubs is expected to be sold to the investment firm that took it public more than a decade ago as dealmaking continues to heat up in the golf industry.<\/p>\n<p>Denver-based private equity firm KSL Capital Partners has agreed to buy the Texas-based operator of golf and membership clubs for roughly $3 billion including debt, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/legal\/transactional\/ksl-capital-partners-buy-membership-club-operator-invited-clubs-second-time-2026-04-22\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">according to a Reuters report<\/a> citing unnamed sources.<\/p>\n<p>KSL would become Invited&#8217;s owner for a second time if the acquisition is completed. KSL previously purchased Invited, then known as ClubCorp, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/dallas\/stories\/2006\/10\/09\/daily14.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">for $1.8 billion in 2006<\/a> and then <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/dallas\/print-edition\/2014\/03\/14\/when-clubcorp-ceo-eric-affeldt-sees-green-he-s-not.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">took the company public<\/a> through an initial public offering in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>The seller would be New York-based financial giant Apollo Global Management Inc., which acquired ClubCorp in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/dallas\/news\/2017\/07\/10\/clubcorp-going-private-in-1-1b-deal.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">$1.1 billion take-private deal<\/a> in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Invited&#8217;s portfolio consists of more than 150 clubs across the United States.
