{"id":611970,"date":"2026-04-28T21:35:07","date_gmt":"2026-04-28T21:35:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/611970\/"},"modified":"2026-04-28T21:35:07","modified_gmt":"2026-04-28T21:35:07","slug":"thunder-fans-welcome-team-home-after-nba-playoff-round-1-sweep","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/611970\/","title":{"rendered":"Thunder fans welcome team home after NBA Playoff Round 1 sweep"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) \u2014 The Oklahoma City Thunder is heading to the Western Conference semifinals after sweeping the Phoenix Suns in the <a href=\"https:\/\/okcfox.com\/news\/local\/thunder-sweep-suns-to-reach-western-conference-semifinals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">first round of the NBA Playoffs.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday afternoon, the team arrived back in OKC in style and received a warm welcome from fans. <\/p>\n<p>Some fans waited for more than an hour at the gate at Will Rogers World Airport to greet the team as they landed back on home turf. <\/p>\n<p>Fans were prepared with cow bells, homemade signs, and brooms to signify the first-round sweep. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We just want to make sure the Thunder knows the community&#8217;s always behind them in the playoff time; all year round but really the playoffs because they&#8217;re traveling, going to other places. When they get back home, they get that hometown feeling.
