{"id":612447,"date":"2026-04-29T02:53:13","date_gmt":"2026-04-29T02:53:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/612447\/"},"modified":"2026-04-29T02:53:13","modified_gmt":"2026-04-29T02:53:13","slug":"photos-king-charles-state-visit-to-the-us","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/612447\/","title":{"rendered":"Photos: King Charles\u2019 state visit to the US"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Britain\u2019s King Charles III and his wife, Queen Camilla, are in the United States for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2026\/04\/27\/world\/king-charles-us-state-visit-intl\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">his first state visit to the country<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The couple <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2026\/04\/27\/us\/live-news\/king-charles-queen-camilla-us-visit\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">was welcomed Monday<\/a> by their hosts, US President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump, before a garden party at the British ambassador\u2019s residence in Washington, DC.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, the King and Trump participated in much pomp and circumstance, including a military review at the White House. The King also gave a joint address to Congress hours before a state dinner.<\/p>\n<p>The King\u2019s visit comes as US-UK relations are strained by the war in Iran, with Trump slamming Prime Minister Keir Starmer\u2019s refusal to assist the US militarily.
