The Rays are 13-1 against American League opponents this season, matching the 1987 Milwaukee Brewers<\/a>, 1984 Detroit Tigers<\/a>, 1981 Oakland Athletics<\/a> and 1966 Cleveland Indians for the best start versus AL competition.<\/p>\n

Brandon Marsh<\/a> hit a sacrifice fly in the fourth off Giants starter Tyler Mahle<\/a> (1-4) and the Phillies tacked on four more runs in the sixth. Bryce Harper<\/a> hit an RBI double and Adolis Garcia<\/a> ripped a two-RBI double to right-center in the inning.<\/p>\n

CINCINNATI (AP) \u2014 Elly De La Cruz homered<\/a> and drove in four runs and Chase Burns<\/a> reached 100 strikeouts faster than any other Cincinnati pitcher as the Reds beat Colorado<\/a>.<\/p>\n

De La Cruz sandwiched a pair of RBI singles around a two-run homer by Spencer Steer \u2014 his fifth<\/a> \u2014 for a 4-1 lead in the third inning. De La Cruz then hit his team-leading 10th homer in the eighth after a base hit by Dane Myers<\/a>, giving the Reds a 6-2 lead. He finished 3 for 4 with two steals.<\/p>\n

Burns (3-1) issued a game-opening walk to Edouard Julien<\/a> and then struck out the side. He struck out TJ Rumfield swinging for the third out and his 100th strikeout in 72 1\/3 innings.<\/p>\n

Burns matched his season high with nine strikeouts, allowing two runs on seven hits and a walk in six innings. He threw 97 pitches and left after striking out Kyle Karros<\/a> with one out and runners on second and third and retiring Ezequiel Tovar<\/a> on a flyout.<\/p>\n

BLUE JAYS 3, RED SOX<\/a> 0<\/p>\n

TORONTO (AP) \u2014 Trey Yesavage<\/a> pitched into the sixth inning in a sharp season debut, Kazuma Okamoto<\/a> drove in two runs and Toronto beat the Boston<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Vladimir Guerrero Jr.<\/a> added an RBI single as Toronto stopped Boston\u2019s season-best winning streak at three games and handed Red Sox interim manager Chad Tracy his first loss since replacing Alex Cora<\/a>, who was fired on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The Red Sox failed to hit at least one home run for the first time in six games.<\/p>\n

CARDINALS<\/a> 11, PIRATES 7<\/p>\n

PITTSBURGH (AP) \u2014 Nolan Gorman<\/a> homered and drove in three runs and Alec Burleson<\/a> and Jordan Walker<\/a> drove in three runs apiece to lead St. Louis<\/a> to a win over Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n

JJ Wetherholt and Ivan Herrera<\/a>, the top two hitters in the Cardinals\u2019 batting order, scored three runs each. Burleson, Walker and Masyn Winn<\/a> each finished with two hits.<\/p>\n

Gorman opened the scoring with a homer leading off the second, his fourth of the season. Victor Scott II<\/a> started a two-run second with his first home run of the season before Wetherholt doubled and scored a single by Walker.<\/p>\n

The Cardinals extended their lead to 6-0 in the fifth when Burleson doubled in a run and Walker and Gorman followed with consecutive sacrifice fly balls.<\/p>\n

Kyle Leahy<\/a> (3-3) allowed three runs and nine hits in 5 1\/3 innings with seven strikeouts. The Pirates scored all three runs in the sixth on homers by Oneil Cruz<\/a> and a two-run shot by Ryan O\u2019Hearn<\/a>, cutting their deficit to 6-3.<\/p>\n

ATLANTA (AP) \u2014 Mart\u00edn P\u00e9rez<\/a> threw five scoreless innings and Atlanta beat Detroit for their 11th win in their last 13 games as the Tigers lost starter Casey Mize<\/a> to an injury in the third inning.<\/p>\n

Ozzie Albies<\/a> hit a two-run homer and Ronald Acu\u00f1a Jr.<\/a> was 2 for 3 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored. Mike Yastrzemski<\/a> was 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored.<\/p>\n

P\u00e9rez (2-1), who was designated for assignment by the Braves earlier this season but then re-signed, gave up two hits and four walks while striking out five. He lowered his ERA to 2.22.<\/p>\n

Mize (2-2) was removed after straining his groin covering first base on a ground ball to first baseman Spencer Torkelson<\/a>. He lasted 2 1\/3 innings during which he gave up two runs, three hits and a walk while striking out three.<\/p>\n

METS<\/a> 8, NATIONALS 0<\/p>\n

NEW YORK (AP) \u2014 Juan Soto<\/a> hit a two-run homer that capped a seven-run fourth inning and New York breezed to a victory over Washington.<\/p>\n

Bo Bichette<\/a> also homered and drove in two runs, and Clay Holmes<\/a> combined with two relievers on a three-hitter as the banged-up Mets (10-19) won for only the third time in 18 games \u2014 perhaps taking a little heat off manager Carlos Mendoza.<\/p>\n

Before the game, Mendoza said Soto is dealing with left forearm tightness. An MRI came back clean, but the left fielder has been the designated hitter in all six games since he returned last Wednesday from a right calf strain.<\/p>\n

BREWERS 13, DIAMONDBACKS<\/a> 2<\/p>\n

MILWAUKEE (AP) \u2014 Sal Frelick<\/a> hit a solo shot<\/a> to end Milwaukee\u2019s stretch of seven straight games without a homer and Tyler Black<\/a> went 3 for 5 with three RBIs as the Brewers trounced Arizona<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Milwaukee broke the game open by scoring eight runs in the sixth off reliever Andrew Hoffmann<\/a>, whose earned run average rose from 2.38 to 8.49.<\/p>\n

Arizona\u2019s Ildemaro Vargas<\/a> singled in the eighth inning and has hit safely in all 21 games he has played this season. Vargas actually has a 24-game hitting streak if his last three games from 2025 are included.<\/p>\n

MARINERS<\/a> 7, TWINS 1<\/p>\n

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) \u2014 Julio Rodriguez<\/a> hit three doubles, scored twice and drove in two runs, and Josh Naylor<\/a> had a homer<\/a> and four RBIs on Tuesday night as Seattle<\/a> beat Minnesota<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Judge scored from first base on Cody Bellinger<\/a>\u2019s first-inning double and Austin Wells<\/a> had a solo homer in the seventh as the Yankees won for the 10th time in 11 games and secured consecutive series victories in Texas by winning the first two against the Rangers after taking two of three in Houston.<\/p>\n

Judge\u2019s shot leading off the ninth was his 12th, tying him with Munetaka Murakami<\/a> of the Chicago White Sox<\/a> for the major lead lead. It also was the difference in the game.<\/p>\n

Yankees closer David Bednar<\/a> gave up a run-scoring triple to Danny Jansen<\/a> and an RBI single to Josh Jung<\/a> after the ninth started with third baseman Ryan McMahon<\/a>\u2019s throwing error.
