\n\tSam Neill<\/a> is now cancer-free and he credits a groundbreaking new therapy for it.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI\u2019ve been living with a particular type of lymphoma for about five years and I was on chemotherapy and the pretty miserable business but it was keeping me alive,\u201d Neill said in an interview with Australian network 7News<\/a>. \u201cThen the chemo stopped working. I was at a loss and it looked like I was on the way out, which wasn\u2019t ideal obviously.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe actor\u2019s only option left was CAR T-cell therapy, which genetically modifies patients\u2019 blood cells and is in clinical trials to treat another blood cancer, myeloma, according to the outlet. \u201cI\u2019ve just had a scan just now and there is no cancer in my body, that\u2019s an extraordinary thing,\u201d Neill said. \u201cI\u2019m very, very excited that this can happen.\u201d The Jurassic Park\u00a0star\u00a0added: \u201cIt\u2019s time I did another movie.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tNeill is currently advocating for state and federal governments to fund the life-saving treatment for all blood cancer patients in Australia with the help of the Snowdome Foundation. \u201cIt\u2019s science at its best,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n \n\tIn 2023, the actor revealed that he was diagnosed<\/a> with stage 3 blood cancer. \u201cI\u2019m not afraid to die,\u201d he told The Guardian<\/a>, \u201cbut it would annoy me. Because I\u2019d really like another decade or two, you know? We\u2019ve built all these lovely terraces, we\u2019ve got these olive trees and cypresses, and I want to be around to see it all mature. And I\u2019ve got my lovely little grandchildren. I want to see them get big.\u201d He said, \u201cBut as for the dying?
