May The Fourth is quickly approaching and what better way to spend the day than play a bunch of Star Wars games?<\/p>\n

You\u2019ve got plenty to choose from like; Star Wars Battlefront II<\/a>, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga and many, many more.<\/p>\n

There are loads of new games on the horizon too but while we\u2019d love to dive straight into Star Wars: Galactic Racer<\/a>, we\u2019re forced to wait for its release date.<\/p>\n

In the meantime though we\u2019ve found a new, free Star Wars<\/a> game you can play next month that\u2019ll blow you away, especially when you find out how it was made.<\/p>\n

Star Wars: Droid Wars Drops Next Month For Free<\/p>\n

Droids are an iconic part of the Star Wars mythos and without them half of the stories we see on the big-screen couldn\u2019t have happened.<\/p>\n

Were it not for R2-D2 and C3PO being in the right place at the right time they\u2019d have never linked up with Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan, whose meeting would eventually bring an end to The Empire\u2019s rule of the galaxy.<\/p>\n

So what better to honour these metallic friends than with a game that lets you pilot your own battle droid and pit it against The Empire\u2019s finest?<\/p>\n

Star Wars: Droid Wars is a fan-made game made entirely within UEFN, or in other words Fortnite.<\/p>\n

Following the collaborations between Star Wars and the infamous battle-royale game the assets used were released for UEFN allowing users to make their own creations.<\/p>\n

So far we\u2019ve seen some jaw-dropping builds, including an in-development successor to the Star Wars Battlefront games.<\/p>\n

Star Wars: Droid Wars is built to be PvE though, with its creator Enigma on X breaking down everything players will be able to see and do come launch day.<\/p>\n

Players will pilot a \u201cfully drivable droid locomotion\u201d with nine equipable weapons. These range from rockets to laser and even elemental options such as flamethrowers and freeze cannons.<\/p>\n

Like the Battlefront games you\u2019ll need to be wary of your weapon\u2019s temperature as it will overheat much like the blasters added in the Fortnite Star Wars collab. <\/p>\n

Everything in this fan-made gamemode has been custom-built to offer a truly unique experience, and while it\u2019s not on par with the upcoming AAA Star Wars titles it looks like a solid game to play in the interim.<\/p>\n

When Will Star Wars: Droid Wars Be Available?<\/p>\n

The gamemode\u2019s creator Enigma originally said 31 May in their post showing off the game but that was apparently a mistake.<\/p>\n

In the comments they corrected the date to 1 May, which is just in a few days time. When it\u2019s ready to go all Fortnite players will need is the map code to jump in and try it for themselves.<\/p>\n
