There’s a new routine forming around the Indiana Fever, and it starts before the ball even goes up. It’s not about lineups or matchups. It’s not even about warmups. It’s that quick scroll moment when fans check social media and ask the same thing again. What is Sophie Cunningham wearing tonight? It sounds small, but it’s not. It’s become part of the experience of following this team. And honestly, it fits perfectly with the kind of energy Indiana is building right now.

It started simple, but fans made it a thing

Cunningham pulled up before the Dallas game in a relaxed look. Track pants, a sweatshirt, nothing flashy at first glance. But then people noticed the detail. Her sweatshirt had a cartoon version of herself on it, and that was enough. Fans jumped on it immediately. Comments, reposts, people asking where they could buy it. That’s the part you can’t really plan. When fans decide something is cool, it just takes off.

It matches exactly how she plays

If you watch Cunningham, none of this feels random. She’s always had a little edge to her game. She talks, she competes, she brings energy, whether she’s hitting shots or getting under someone’s skin. That’s part of why she fits so well on this roster. Last season she shot over 43 percent from three and gave Indiana a steady presence off the bench. But beyond the numbers, she’s one of those players you notice. Now that same personality is showing up before the game even starts.

This team is being watched differently now

That’s really what’s driving all of this. The Fever aren’t flying under the radar anymore. Not with Caitlin Clark leading the way and not with the kind of attention this group is getting every night. Everything is getting picked up. Big plays, small moments, even what players are wearing walking into the arena. It all becomes part of the story.

It’s becoming part of the nightly conversation

Indiana lost 95-80 to the Dallas Wings, and yeah, that matters. Cunningham had a quiet night statistically too. But somehow, her pregame look still ended up being one of the most talked-about things from the night. That tells you where things are heading.

As the season gets closer, the games will take center stage. They always do. But this kind of stuff isn’t going away. Fans are locked in on every detail now. And before every game, whether people realize it or not, the same question is going to keep popping up.

What’s Sophie wearing tonight?
