Campbell and her colleagues argue that the proposed $6.2 billion deal between Nexstar and TEGNA, the nation\u2019s largest and third-largest television station conglomerates, would lead to higher cable TV bills and other impacts for the delivery of media to Americans. They argue the merger is unlawful. &#8220;As Massachusetts residents continue to grapple with the rising cost of living and higher monthly household expenses, they shouldn&#8217;t have to pay the price for an unlawful merger driving up subscription prices,&#8221; Campbell said.Massachusetts, Indiana, Kansas, Pennsylvania, and Vermont were added to the multistate lawsuit on Friday. Nexstar currently operates one broadcast station in Massachusetts and two others overlapping the state from New York and Rhode Island.
