A daytime rocket launch from Florida is on the horizon<\/a> \u2014 and if you\u2019re on the Space Coast, it\u2019ll be a sight to see.<\/p>\n

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will potentially carry the fourth batch of Amazon satellites into low-Earth orbit. Amazon founder\u00a0Jeff Bezos launched Project Kuiper, a global network of satellites, to compete with SpaceX CEO-billionaire Elon Musk and Starlink satellites.<\/p>\n

The first two launches of\u00a0the Amazon\u00a0Project Kuiper production satellites<\/a> were courtesy of a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket from Cape Canaveral. Online, the mission has been called the “Amazon rocket launch” or “the Amazon rocket launch from Florida,\u201d but it\u2019s accurate to call it the Amazon satellite rocket launch or Project Kuiper missions.<\/p>\n

Rockets here launch from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center or nearby Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.<\/p>\n

Weather permitting and depending on cloud cover, a\u00a0rocket launch from Florida\u2019s Space Coast<\/a>\u00a0could be visible as far north as Jacksonville Beach and Daytona Beach to as far south as Fort Pierce and West Palm Beach.<\/p>\n

When there\u2019s a launch window in the middle of the night or very early morning, there\u2019s an\u00a0opportunity for unique photos \u2014 the rocket lights up the dark sky and the contrail after<\/a>\u00a0makes for a great photo.<\/p>\n

When is the next rocket launch from Florida? Thursday, Aug. 7: Amazon Kuiper KF-02<\/p>\n

Mission: SpaceX will launch the next batch of satellites for Amazon’s Project Kuiper satellite internet constellation. This is the second launch of the satellies on a SpaceX rocket and the fourth launch of the Amazon satellites.<\/p>\n

Where to watch SpaceX rocket launch from Space Coast of Florida<\/p>\n

Pretty much anywhere\u00a0in Brevard, you’ll get a view of the rocket<\/a>\u00a0launch \u2212 in certain areas, you can get an amazing view of SpaceX rocket boosters returning<\/a> to the pads. The best view to watch a rocket launch from the Space Coast is along the beach. However, visibility will depend on weather conditions and people should make sure not to block traffic or rights of way on bridges and to follow posted rules at beaches.<\/p>\n

If you are viewing the launch along the Indian River in Titusville from Space View Park or Parrish Park, look east directly across the river.<\/p>\n

If you are farther south along the Indian River, look northeast.<\/p>\n

Playalinda Beach or Canaveral National Seashore is the closest spot to view liftoff\u00a0because it is almost parallel to Launch Pad 39A. On the beach, look south along the coastline, (you can even see the pad from some spots).<\/p>\n
