Lexie Hull has spent the past few weeks doing everything but playing, which can be one of the toughest parts of the early season for any athlete. While the Indiana Fever ramped up through preseason games, Hull was sidelined with a hamstring issue, working her way back behind the scenes.

Those types of injuries often require patience more than anything, especially when the regular season is right around the corner. Timing matters, but so does long-term health. Now, with opening night approaching, the focus shifts from rehab to readiness. And for a team looking to build momentum early, getting a key piece back at the right time could quietly make a big difference.

Lexie Hull Shares Encouraging Update Before Opener

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s matchup with the Dallas Wings, Hull offered a simple but important update.

“I feel great,” she said, adding that she’s hopeful to play in the season opener.

It’s a strong sign for Indiana as it prepares to open the season, even if her workload is still being evaluated.

Why Hull’s Presence Matters for Indiana

Hull’s impact goes beyond the stat sheet. She brings defensive intensity, energy, and versatility on the wing.

A former first-round pick out of Stanford, Hull has steadily grown into her role. Last season, she posted career highs in scoring, rebounding, and minutes while starting 30 games and helping the Fever reach the postseason.

Her ability to defend multiple positions and space the floor makes her a valuable piece in different lineup combinations.

A Key Moment Against a Familiar Challenge

If Hull is available, her return would come against a Dallas roster that includes Azzi Fudd and Paige Bueckers, setting up an intriguing season opener.

For Indiana, this game is about setting a tone. Having Hull back, even in a limited role, adds another layer of depth and stability.

Her update doesn’t guarantee she’ll be at full strength right away. But it does signal that she’s close, and that alone changes the outlook heading into opening night.
