Voting is underway for the 2026 Radio Hall of Fame nominees. Inside Radio spotlights the 2026 Radio Hall of Fame nominees, recognizing their lasting impact on the industry, and on listeners. Today we focus on more of the 24 nominees for this year\u2019s award.<\/p>\n

Charlie Van Dyke<\/p>\n

Charlie was just 14 when\"\" he opened the microphone in Dallas on easy-listening KIXL-FM, starting a 60+ year career. That door opening led to stints later on KVIL FM and KLIF AM, both Dallas powerhouses at the time. Bill Drake heard his work and hired him for Morning Drive in Detroit on CKLW-AM. And that was before his dream job became his own, as Morning Man on 610 KFRC in San Francisco. He later enjoyed on-air time at KGB AM \/ San Diego and KHJ AM \/ Los Angeles before moving to Chicago to host morning drive on WLS AM. He\u2019d later return to KHJ AM again before trying his hand in Boston at WRKO-AM. Along the way, he earned the opportunity to regularly fill-in for Casey Kasem guest hosting American Top 40. He later worked in both the Phoenix and Los Angeles radio markets.<\/p>\n

Charlie\u2019s voice went beyond radio to television, doing promo imagine work on television stations, including WABC TV, New York.<\/p>\n

Ryan Cameron<\/p>\n

Ryan Cameron is widely regarded\"\" as one of the most influential voices in American radio, with an Atlanta-based career spanning more than 30 years. Known as \u201cThe Voice of the City,\u201d he has defined the sound of Atlanta broadcasting through unmatched consistency, ratings success, and cultural impact on V-103 (WVEE-FM). Cameron has dominated across formats and time slots, consistently ranking at or near the top since the start of the PPM era. His influence extends beyond radio, helping bring hip-hop into mainstream daytime programming and mentoring talent such as Ludacris. Cameron\u2019s broadcasting style blends comedy with social awareness, often addressing local issues while entertaining listeners.<\/p>\n

Ryan has appeared in films such as ATL and Think Like a Man, expanding his reach into mainstream entertainment.<\/p>\n

He is also the official voice of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, reaching over 100 million travelers annually. In sports, Cameron made history as the public address announcer for both the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta Hawks.<\/p>\n

Voting runs through Friday, May 8, with the top six finishers earning spots in the 2026 Radio Hall of Fame induction class. Additional honorees will be chosen by the Radio Hall of Fame Nominating Committee.<\/p>\n

The full 2026 class will be announced Wednesday, May 20, and formally recognized during the induction ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 8 at the Fairmont Hotel in Chicago. Ticket details will be released soon.<\/p>\n
