All eight episodes will be available to stream at debut.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe latest news comes one day after FX dropped <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/05\/the-bear-surprise-episode-jon-bernthal-ebon-moss-bachrach-1236881606\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a surprise prequel episode <\/a>of The Bear on Hulu. Titled \u201cGary,\u201d the episode is a flashback following cousins Richie (<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/ebon-moss-bachrach\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ebon Moss-Bachrach<\/a>) and Mikey (<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/jon-bernthal\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jon Bernthal<\/a>) on a work trip to Gary, Indiana. The stars of the episode also co-wrote it, and series creator <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/christopher-storer\/\" id=\"auto-tag_christopher-storer\" data-tag=\"christopher-storer\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Christopher Storer<\/a> directed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tPer the official description, the episode follows the two friends\u2019 complicated relationship, uncovering new layers of Mikey\u2019s mental state while offering crucial insight into the man Richie is when audiences first meet him in Season 1 \u2014 adding emotional context that reframes their story from the very beginning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn addition to its streaming debut, Season 5 will roll out on FX\u2019s linear channel. The FX premiere will include the first two episodes followed by one new episode airing weekly. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe final season is sure to bring its fair share of drama as it picks up quite quickly after the events of Season 4. According to FX, Season 5 picks up the morning after Sydney (<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/ayo-edebiri\/\" id=\"auto-tag_ayo-edebiri\" data-tag=\"ayo-edebiri\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ayo Edebiri<\/a>), Richie and Natalie \u201cSugar\u201d (Abby Elliott) discover that Carmy (<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/jeremy-allen-white\/\" id=\"auto-tag_jeremy-allen-white\" data-tag=\"jeremy-allen-white\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jeremy Allen White<\/a>) has quit the food industry, leaving the restaurant to them. With no money, the threat of a sale and a torrential storm in their way, the new partners must band together with the rest of the team to achieve one last service, hoping they\u2019ll finally earn a Michelin star. Ultimately, they learn that what makes a restaurant \u201cperfect\u201d might not be the food but the people.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tWinner of 21 Emmy Awards including Outstanding Comedy Series for Season 1, the series also stars Lionel Boyce, Liza Col\u00f3n-Zayas and Matty Matheson, with Ricky Staffieri, Oliver Platt, Will Poulter and Jamie Lee Curtis in recurring roles.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe Bear is created by Christopher Storer, who serves as executive producer alongside Josh Senior, Cooper Wehde, Tyson Bidner, Matty Matheson, Hiro Murai and Rene Gube. Courtney Storer serves as a culinary producer.
