Howard Stern\u2019s future on SiriusXM has been a big topic of discussion over the last 24 hours.<\/p>\n
Reports of the shock jock being canceled are trending, and this is why.<\/p>\n
The U.S. Sun<\/a>, citing sources, reported earlier this week that the show would be canceled after nearly 20 years. However, it isn\u2019t what you think, though.<\/p>\n \u201cStern\u2019s contract is up in the fall and while Sirius is planning to make him an offer, they don\u2019t intend for him to take it,\u201d one insider told The Sun<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cSirius and Stern are never going to meet on the money he is going to want. It\u2019s no longer worth the investment.\u201d<\/p>\n According to the report, SiriusXM will look to make a deal with the 71-year-old for his catalogue.<\/p>\n An additional source said Stern\u2019s political stances aren\u2019t helping things.<\/p>\n \u201cIf Sirius isn\u2019t going to give Stern a good offer, I don\u2019t think it would have anything to do with his ratings,\u201d the source told The Sun<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s more likely everything to do with the political climate.\u201d<\/p>\n It should be noted no other media outlet has reported any additional news or even confirmation of The Sun\u2019s report.<\/p>\n Mark Heim is a reporter for The Alabama Media Group.
