Savannah Guthrie made a sudden exit during Wednesday\u2019s \u201cToday\u201d show.<\/p>\n
After 90 minutes into the broadcast, Savannah\u2019s co-host, Craig Melvin, announced that she was done for the day.<\/p>\n
\u201cSavannah had to leave a little early,\u201d he told viewers, adding, \u201cShe\u2019ll be right back tomorrow, though.\u201d<\/p>\n
No other explanation was given, and Savannah has yet to address the moment on her social media accounts. However, a source told Page Six Savannah left \u201cfor some sort of appointment, and her exit had nothing to do with her mom.\u201d<\/p>\n
Page Six reached out to reps for \u201cToday,\u201d but didn\u2019t receive an immediate response.<\/p>\n

Savannah\u2019s abrupt exit comes as her mother, 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, remains missing. Nancy has\u00a0been missing since Jan. 31<\/a>, when police believe she was kidnapped from her home in Tucson, Arizona.<\/p>\n The journalist has made emotional pleas on social media<\/a> alongside her siblings, Annie and Camron, for any information in order to bring her mother home.<\/p>\n After taking two months off from the NBC morning show in light of her family emergency, Savannah, 54,\u00a0returned to \u201cToday\u201d\u00a0<\/a>on April 6.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is good to be home,\u201d she said at the beginning of the show.\u00a0\u201cReady or not, let\u2019s do the news.\u201d<\/p>\n Sources told Page Six that ahead of the broadcast, NBC staffers were explicitly instructed not to address Nancy\u2019s disappearance<\/a>, or even formally welcome the anchor back.<\/p>\n Guthrie\u2019s mother, Nancy Guthrie, is still missing more than three months since police believe she was kidnapped from her home in Tucson, Arizona. I can\u2019t come back and try to be something I\u2019m not, but I can\u2019t not come back because it\u2019s my family,\u201d she said. \u201cI think part of my purpose now.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI want to smile and when I do, it will be real,\u201d she continued. \u201cAnd my joy will be my protest.
