(KFSN) &#8212; If you thought you saw a bear in northwest Fresno on Thursday, you weren&#8217;t going crazy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The California Department of Fish and Wildlife confirmed the bear was in the area of North Ila Avenue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Officials have called off the search since they believe it went to the closest river near Herndon and West.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">It&#8217;s uncommon to see bears in the area, but officials say there&#8217;s been an overall increase in bear activity in the last five years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC eTIW sUzSN \">Anyone who sees the bear should immediately call the Department of Fish and Wildlife.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2026 KFSN-TV.
