\n\tHollywood\u2019s latest leading man Jonathan Bailey<\/a> has booked a new film.<\/p>\n

\n\tFresh from being crowned 2025\u2019s box office king thanks to \u201cJurassic World Rebirth\u201d and \u201cWicked: For Good,\u201d the actor is now teaming up with Oscar winner Natalie Portman<\/a> (\u201cMay December,\u201d \u201cBlack Swan\u201d) for \u201cPumping Black,\u201d a psychological thriller set in the competitive and cutthroat world of professional cycling.<\/p>\n

\n\tAnton<\/a> will launch international sales at Cannes with CAA co-repping the U.S.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe feautre will be directed by Mimi Cave<\/a>, best known for directing 2022 horror \u201cFresh,\u201d starring Daisy Edgar-Jones and Sebastian Stan, and 2025 comedy-mystery film \u201cHolland,\u201d starring Nicole Kidman. Cave will direct from a screenplay by Haley Hope Bartels.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cPumping Black\u201d follows cyclist Taylor Mace, who at 35-years-old is finding himself aging out of the sport. He is taken under the wing of Andrea Lathe, a doctor driven by her own thirst for victory and power. As the race to the Tour de France progresses, Taylor must take increasingly dark measures to protect his secret. According to the description, it\u2019s an \u201cadrenaline fuelled, dangerous thriller\u201d likened to both \u201cWhiplash\u201d and \u201cBlack Swan.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film is being produced by Stacey Sher at Shiny Penny (\u201cThe Hateful Eight,\u201d \u201cHeretic\u201d), Cave, Anton\u2019s S\u00e9bastien Raybaud (\u201cVictorian Psycho\u201d) and Natalie Portman and Sophie Mas from MountainA (\u201cMay December,\u201d \u201cArco\u201d). Anton is fully financing, with production scheduled for the fall.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHaley\u2019s script immediately pulled us into a visceral, psychological world that feels both thrilling and completely original,\u201d said Sher. \u201cI\u2019m excited to partner with Natalie and MountainA on this bold project, and to work with Jonathan whose talent makes him a perfect fit for the role. \n\tAfter breaking out in Netflix hit \u201cBridgerton,\u201d Bailey has reached blockbuster audiences thanks to the \u201cWicked\u201d franchise and \u201cJurassic World Rebirth.\u201d The combined box office of \u201cRebirth\u201d ($869 million globally) and \u201cWicked: For Good\u201d ($540 million) meant he became 2025\u2019s highest-grossing actor. <\/p>\n

\n\tPortman, meanwhile, won an Oscar for \u201cBlack Swan,\u201d while she\u2019s renowned for other acclaimed roles including \u201cJackie,\u201d \u201cV for Vendetta,\u201d plus franchises including \u201cStar Wars\u201d and \u201cThor.\u201d On television, she starred in and executive produced Apple TV\u2019s \u201cLady in the Lake.\u201d Other upcoming films for her MountainA banner include \u201cThe Gallerist\u201d by Cathy Yan, and \u201cGood Sex\u201d by Lena Dunham.<\/p>\n

\n\tSuper-producer Sher has been involved in more than two dozen major features amassing nearly $2.7 billion at the box office, and is known for her collaborations with Quentin Tarantino (\u201cPulp Fiction,\u201d \u201cDjango Unchained,\u201d \u201cThe Hateful Eight\u201d) and Steven Soderbergh (\u201cErin Brockovich,\u201d \u201cOut of Sight\u201d and \u201cContagion\u201d), plus films including \u201cGarden State,\u201d \u201cReality Bites,\u201d \u201cGet Shorty,\u201d \u201cMan on the Moon.\u201d \u201cGattaca\u201d and \u201cRespect.\u201d She is currently producing the Amazon\/MGM erotic thriller \u201cVerity,\u201d directed by Michael Showalter and starring Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, and Josh Hartnett.<\/p>\n

\n\tAnton\u2019s Cannes market slate includes \u201cMy Darling California,\u201d the all-star crime thriller with a cast including Jessica Chastain, Chris Evans, Chris Pine, Mikey Madison, Charles Melton and Don Cheadle, and \u201cIn Love,\u201d a modern love story starring George Clooney and Annette Bening. It recently announced the alien invasion thriller \u201cSoon You Will Be Gone and Possibly Eaten\u201d starring Sophie Wilde and Dave Franco, \u201cDoctor Caligari\u2019s Cabinet of Wonders\u201d starring Michael Shannon and \u201cStarman,\u201d an emotional odyssey starring Brendan Fraser. <\/p>\n
