It focuses on the legacy, values and brands that comprise the company founded by the Puig family, as well as a snapshot of the group\u2019s present and future.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cIn the last few years we have been forced to talk more about Puig than just the brands that we have under our umbrella,\u201d explained Marc Puig, chairman and chief executive officer of the company. Ruiz Lindberg\/Couretsy of Puig<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cWhen the 110-year anniversary arrived, we felt that many of the stories and things that had happened over the last decade were worth putting in black and white,\u201d he said, adding this was important for the world \u2014 as well as company employees \u2014 to see.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s a good reflection of the essence of who we are,\u201d the executive said. \u201cPuig, Home of Creativity\u201d was fashioned to reflect the company\u2019s spirit. It is also meant to complement the <a href=\"https:\/\/wwd.com\/fashion-news\/fashion-scoops\/robin-givhan-virgil-abloh-book-party-marlton-hotel-1237953480\/\" id=\"related_article_link_book\" data-tag=\"book\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">book<\/a> Puig published to mark its centenary, called \u201cPuig, 100 Years of a Family Business.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cThe 100-year anniversary was an homage to the second generation,\u201d said Puig. At the time, three of the four of the family members who made that up were still alive. But by today, all of them have passed away.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cThis book is more a legacy for the next generation, because now we\u2019re transitioning, from the family point of view, from the third to the fourth generation,\u201d said Puig. \u201cThis book is a platform of where we are going.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe company \u2014 with fashion and beauty brands including Rabanne, Carolina Herrera, Dries Van Noten and Jean Paul Gaultier \u2014 has been developing strongly. Last year Puig\u2019s sales were 4.79 billion euros. It\u2019s [also] \u2018creativity,\u2019 because we like to think that we are willing to take risks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe company\u2019s choices over the years that have shaped it into what Puig is today \u2014 be it the focus on fragrance or niche brands or own brands \u2014 are highlighted in the new book.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIt opens with a photographic look of Barcelona, home to Puig since its conception, and traces the group\u2019s evolution until today, when the company is a premium beauty and fashion powerhouse with fragrance, makeup and skin care.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThere\u2019s a dive into the Puig family\u2019s history, the company\u2019s values and creative partnerships, as well as the thinking behind its brands. This is sprung to life with contributions from the likes of perfume historian Michael Edwards and perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena, images from the archives and newly commissioned photographs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tFourteen of the brands are highlighted, including Rabanne and its iconic metallic chain-mail dress, plus interviews with Charlotte Tilbury, Jean Paul Gaultier and Dries Van Noten, who talks about how his garden has influenced his creative world.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tA section describes Wes Gordon\u2019s succeeding Herrera at her eponymous brand. What\u2019s the essence that differentiates that company?\u201d said Puig. \u201cWhat are the characteristics of this company that the family has shaped that we want to maintain?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tChange is of the essence.
