Sitting near the corner with West Lake Street, the project has been in the works for around a year, having faced much <a href=\"https:\/\/chicagoyimby.com\/2026\/03\/plan-commission-approves-215-racine-in-fulton-market.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">scrutiny<\/a> from neighbors due to its proposed high-density zoning. The ground floor will hold 1,100 square feet of retail space along with a small lobby and a ramp up to the next few levels containing 88 parking spaces.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/215-n-racine-03-1024x716.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"716\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-87266\"  \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/215-n-racine-02-1024x1002.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1002\" class=\"size-large wp-image-87267\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Floor plans of 215 N Racine Avenue by Archeo Design Studio<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the 29-story structure will hold 347 residential units made up of 143 studios, 79 one-bedroom, 120 two-bedroom, and five three-bedroom layouts. Of these, 70 will be considered affordable. Design efforts for this are still in the works, and the park will be privately managed but open to the public.
