It’s been a disappointing season for the Reds despite showing signs of improvement over the last few weeks. <\/p>\n

The Merseyside club have been underwhelming in comparison to what they produced last campaign, with Slot facing plenty of criticism. <\/p>\n

At one point, it looked as though Liverpool were going to struggle to qualify for the Champions League, but they now have a good opportunity with two games to go. <\/p>\n

Despite that, questions are still being asked of Slot heading towards the summer.<\/p>\n

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano has provided an update on Slot’s future at Liverpool<\/a> after another disappointing performance. <\/p>\n

The respected journalist confirms that the Reds still want to continue with Slot amid rumours about them making contact with Xabi Alonso. <\/p>\n

“At the moment, the feeling at Liverpool, I can confirm that it is absolutely in the direction that they want to continue with Slot. Why? Because so far, and it’s May now, it’s no longer February, March, or April. In May, Liverpool have not made contact with any other manager. There were many rumours on Liverpool making contact with Alonso coming from Germany, but I can guarantee that Liverpool this year never made any direct approach with Alonso or with his agents.”<\/p>\n

Slot certainly has plenty of credit in the bank after winning the Premier League title last season, but Liverpool fans’ frustration is still understandable. <\/p>\n

The Reds simply haven’t kicked on since last term. <\/p>\n

Slot Needs to Show Improvement Fast<\/p>\n

Liverpool’s decision to stick with Slot is understandable after what happened last season, but there is no doubt he needs to show improvement quickly.<\/p>\n

The Reds need to be competing for Premier League titles, considering the amount of money they’ve spent, and as it stands, they are 17 points behind league leaders Arsenal. <\/p>\n

If the Merseyside club have another season where they are battling to finish in the top four rather than winning the title, then there’s no doubt the pressure will ramp up on the manager. <\/p>\n
