REUTERS\/Elizabeth Frantz<\/p>\n<p>May 8 (Reuters) &#8211; President Donald Trump is planning to fire \u200cU.S. Food and Drug Administration \u200cCommissioner Marty Makary, the Wall Street Journal reported \u200bon Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.<\/p>\n<p>The plan, however, is not yet final and could \u200cchange, the \u2060report said.<\/p>\n<p>Makary, a surgical oncologist at the Johns Hopkins \u2060University School of Medicine, was confirmed as FDA commissioner in March \u200b2025.<\/p>\n<p>He has \u200bwritten bestselling \u200bbooks on healthcare \u200ccosts and what he described as modern medicine&#8217;s failures.
