The WNBA<\/a>‘s opening weekend was a historic one for both Caitlin Clark<\/a> and Angel Reese<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Clark and the Indiana Fever<\/a> opened the 2026 regular season on Saturday, taking on the Dallas Wings<\/a>. The Fever<\/a> lost a high-scoring game to the Wings, falling 107-104, as they dropped the season opener.<\/p>\n

Reese and her new team, the Atlanta Dream<\/a>, took on the Minnesota Lynx<\/a> in the season opener. The Dream topped the Lynx, 91-90, in a thrilling contest that came down to the wire.<\/p>\n

Ultimately, both the Dream and the Fever had historic opening weekend games.<\/p>\n

Clark made history, becoming the fastest point guard in WNBA history to reach the 1,000 points mark.<\/p>\n

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft became the fastest player in league history to reach 1,000 or more points, 250 or more rebounds and 250 or more assists.<\/p>\n
