Chris “Chili” Rodriguez announced the grand opening of the Mind and Soul Gallery & Studios on Saturday, May 16 in the Gardner Building on Madison Ave.<\/p>\n

TOLEDO, Ohio \u2014 A well-known muralist\u00a0<\/a>in Toledo<\/a> is opening a gallery in downtown Toledo.<\/p>\n

Chris \u201cChilly\u201d Rodriguez says people are invited to a grand opening for the Mind and Soul Gallery & Studios in the historic Gardner Building on Saturday, May 16.<\/p>\n

The Gardner Building is located on the corner of Madison Avenue and Superior Street.<\/p>\n

Rodriguez says he and his team have been working for 6 months to renovate and rebuild the 6000 square foot space.<\/p>\n

Artwork from over 40 local and nationally known artists, working in a variety of mediums, will be on display at the event.<\/p>\n

There will also be live music, food trucks, raffles and a scavenger hunt.<\/p>\n

The grand opening takes place between 5 and 10 p.m. with an after-party from 10 p.m. \u2013 1 a.m.<\/p>\n

Rodriguez is known for his many vibrant murals around the city, many of which feature colorful birds, geometric patterns, and flowers.<\/p>\n

The Gardner Building was slated to be torn down in the 1980s before a group of investors and preservationists purchased the building.
