Daybreak uses the Codex Security AI agent that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/ai-artificial-intelligence\/891022\/openais-codex-updates-focus-on-security-and-open-source\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">launched in March<\/a> to create a threat model based on an organization\u2019s code and focus on possible attack paths, validate likely vulnerabilities, and then automate the detection of the higher risk ones.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">Its launch comes just over a month after rival Anthropic announced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/ai-artificial-intelligence\/908114\/anthropic-project-glasswing-cybersecurity\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Claude Mythos<\/a>, a security-focused AI model it claimed was too dangerous to publicly release and only shared privately as a part of its own initiative, dubbed Project Glasswing. Still, that didn\u2019t stop at least a few unauthorized parties <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/ai-artificial-intelligence\/917644\/anthropic-claude-mythos-breach-humiliation\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">from getting access<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">However, OpenAI has so far lacked a similar security product. Like Glasswing, Daybreak isn\u2019t built on just one AI model \u2014 OpenAI <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/OpenAI\/status\/2053939702110269822\" rel=\"nofollow\">says<\/a> \u201cDaybreak brings together the most capable OpenAI models, Codex, and our security partners.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">Daybreak also involves specialized cyber models, including <a href=\"http:\/\/openai.com\/index\/gpt-5-5-with-trusted-access-for-cyber\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">GPT-5.5 with Trusted Access for Cyber and GPT-5.5-Cyber<\/a>, which began rolling out last week.
