The Cleveland Cavaliers<\/a>, who came into the NBA<\/a> playoffs as the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference, had a tough test in the first round, beating the Toronto Raptors<\/a> in seven games. In the conference semifinals, the Cavaliers lost the first two games to the top-seeded Detroit Pistons<\/a> before winning Game 3 on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Cleveland was without veteran center Thomas Bryant<\/a> for the past two games against the Pistons after he played 10 minutes in Game 1. Bryant missed the two consecutive matchups due to back spasms.<\/p>\n

On Monday, the Cavaliers announced that Bryant would be available to play in the pivotal Game 4.<\/p>\n

Bryant, who was originally listed as “questionable” for Monday’s game, had his status updated to “available” in the official NBA Injury Report<\/a> less than an hour before tipoff against the Pistons.<\/p>\n

This is a big addition for a Cavaliers team that could use the extra depth in the frontcourt against the Pistons, who have played well on the inside throughout the playoffs.<\/p>\n

Before his status was updated, Bryant was seen going through shoot-around and warmups on the floor.<\/p>\n

During the regular season, the 6-foot-9 big man played 60 games for Cleveland, offering a viable option off the bench, as he averaged 6.2 points and 3.4 rebounds in 12.2 minutes.<\/p>\n

Due to injuries, he’s played in just four of the Cavaliers’ 10 games during the playoffs, putting up seven points with three rebounds total in those appearances.<\/p>\n

While Jarrett Allen<\/a> has been Cleveland’s focal point on the inside, scoring a combined 40 points in the past two games, having the option of Bryant coming off the bench is a big help for head coach Kenny Atkinson and the Cavaliers.<\/p>\n

Game 4 on Monday is scheduled to tip off at 8 p.m. ET at Rocket Arena and can be seen on NBC and Peacock.<\/p>\n
