The game ended at 9:20 p.m. Less than 45 minutes later, a line of strong to severe thunderstorms swept into San Antonio\u2019s Northwest Side around 10 p.m. It was just enough time for fans at The Rock at La Cantera\u00a0\u2014 where thousands had gathered to watch the game\u00a0\u2014 to take shelter before the storms arrived. Disaster was averted.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, thunderstorms are not expected across the region Tuesday night as the Spurs return home,<\/a> looking to take a 3-2 series lead against the Timberwolves. If you\u2019re heading to the game or planning to attend a watch party Tuesday night, here\u2019s a look at the forecast.<\/p>\n

With high atmospheric pressure continuing to build across the state, dry weather is expected<\/a> across San Antonio Tuesday night. However, if you\u2019re heading out, be prepared for especially warm weather. Temperatures just before the 7 p.m. tip-off will likely sit between 85 and 87 degrees, which is still hot enough to contribute to heat-related illnesses without proper hydration.<\/p>\n

Temperatures will become more comfortable as the game moves on. By halftime, San Antonio will likely dip into the upper 70s, falling into the mid-70s by the time the final buzzer sounds. Humidity will also be relatively low, which is great news if you plan on being outdoors for a significant amount of time.<\/p>\n

While a few scattered clouds are possible, skies are expected to stay mostly clear through the evening, and we don\u2019t have any chances for rain throughout all of South and Central Texas.<\/p>\n

No matter who wins Tuesday night, the two teams will travel back to Minneapolis for Game 6 on Friday night. Here in San Antonio, the good news is that dry weather is expected to persist. However, the bad news is that temperatures and humidity levels will rise.<\/p>\n

Friday\u2019s game time is still to be determined by the NBA. However, if the game starts around 7 p.m., temperatures will likely be in the low 90s across the San Antonio metro area. Winds will also be quite gusty, moving in from the southeast at 15-20 mph. If you plan on watching the game outdoors, it will be especially important to stay hydrated and to wear loose-fitting clothing.<\/p>\n

If the series makes it to a potential Game 7 in San Antonio on Sunday, the weather could become more of an issue. Chances of rain may return to the forecast by Sunday night, with a few strong thunderstorms possible as well.
