Some online sellers move thousands each month, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/news\/people-culture\/trending-china\/article\/3320266\/adult-pacifiers-trending-china-stress-relief-and-sleep-doctors-warn-health-risks\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">South China Morning Post. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>And the fans aren\u2019t shy about why. \u201cWhen I\u2019m under pressure at work, I feel a sense of safety from childhood,\u201d one Chinese buyer said, as reported by the outlet. <\/p>\n<p>But not everyone\u2019s clapping for the comeback kid of the baby aisle. <\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49707602;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"36760640\" width=\"883\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/cute-little-baby-boy-pacifier-109295655.jpg\" alt=\"Baby boy with pacifier in crib.\" class=\"wp-image-36760640\"  \/>Marketed as sleep aids, stress busters, and quit-smoking sidekicks \u2014 and shoppers are sucking them up. LIGHTFIELD STUDIOS \u2013 stock.adobe.com<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Tang Caomin, a dentist in Sichuan, warned SCMP that \u201cif you sleep with a pacifier in your mouth, it can interfere with breathing, and in the worst case, there is a risk of suffocation.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The doctor also cautioned that prolonged use can mess with your bite, strain your jaw and even disrupt sleep.<\/p>\n<p>The trend isn\u2019t staying swaddled in China, either.<\/p>\n<p>TikTok is sucking it up \u2014 literally \u2014 with videos of American adults pacifying themselves in traffic, at work, or in the throes of burnout. <\/p>\n<p>In the comments section of a TikTok by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@thebentist\/video\/7312173519650000158?q=adult%20pacifiers&amp;t=1754522236655\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">@thebentist<\/a>, one user swore, \u201cI just use an adult pacifier it hasn\u2019t moved my teeth been using them for 4 years.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Another doubled down: \u201cJust get an adult pacifier I use one! And the ADHD tip it works!!(for me).\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Others admitted, \u201cwe gotta do what we gotta do to keep focused. over bite or not getting stuff we need to get done.
