Manchester United’s plans for the new season are beginning to take shape after they secured their Champions League<\/a> place.<\/p>\n

GIVEMESPORT sources understand that Michael Carrick is closing in on the permanent manager’s job at Old Trafford<\/a>, having been recommended by the club bosses after ten wins in 15 games as interim manager, and now plans are turning towards the transfer market.<\/p>\n

While the midfield is seen as the absolute priority to strengthen with Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte expected to move on, a new left-winger is also seen as a key deal to complete, after all of Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Alejandro Garnacho were allowed to leave.<\/p>\n

Marcus Rashford Has No Man Utd Future<\/p>\n

While a left-winger is a necessity, one who almost certainly won’t be at Old Trafford next season is Rashford, despite his fine campaign with Barcelona in La Liga this season.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old won the Spanish top division this season, scoring the goal that clinched the title in El Cl\u00e1sico last week to take him to 14 goals and ten assists for the campaign. Barcelona want to keep him, and hold an option to make his loan move permanent for just \u00a326m, but talks are ongoing as they look to lower that price<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Rashford wants to stay at the Nou Camp, but the noise coming from the Catalan club is that they are willing to walk away from the deal if they can’t get a lower price, and Man Utd are adamant he won’t be sold for any less.<\/p>\n

That could potentially open the door for other clubs to make their move for the explosive winger, and that would also open up the chance for Man Utd to use it to their advantage to seal a deal for a target of their own.<\/p>\n

Man Utd Can Use Rashford to Sign Rafael Leao<\/p>\n

Reports suggest that Rafael Leao is a target at Old Trafford in a \u00a360m deal, with talks having been held between the club and intermediaries<\/a>, as Milan are open to letting the Portugal star depart.<\/p>\n

Milan have previously shown an interest in Rashford too, and if a move to Barcelona can’t materialise for whatever reason, it would be very possible that the club could return for his services as they look set to return to the Champions League.<\/p>\n

United should use that to their benefit to find an agreement that sees Rashford go one way and Leao travel the other, in a deal that would benefit all parties involved, and get everyone what they want. Leao, who Nani has described as ‘world-class’<\/a>, and Rashford are very similar players in their ability and skillset, and if United are keen on the deal, this is their way of making it happen.<\/p>\n
