ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) – Join author Harold D. Baldwin on
\nSaturday, Aug. 23 for a kids\u2019 hour reading at 11:30 a.m. and an adult hour
\nreading at 12:30 p.m. from his book \u201cUp from Jackman.\u201d A book signing will be held
\nafter the readings until 1:30 p.m. <\/p>\n
\u201cUp from Jackman,\u201d published in April, is meant for
\nparents, teachers and students. The book touches on the notion that with
\ndetermination and community support success can be achieved.<\/p>\n
Baldwin was born in the rural South and received his
\neducation at Bowie State College in Maryland. He was professionally employed by
\nthe U.S. Government in Washington, D.C., and later in San Francisco. <\/p>\n
After his government position, for a total of 25
\nyears, Baldwin worked for the Elk Grove and San Juan unified school districts.<\/p>\n
