But on Day 2 of the season\u2019s second major, the course had a co-conspirator: the PGA of America, which placed a diabolical set of pins that had the game\u2019s best grousing<\/p>\n \u201cThis is the hardest set of pin locations that I’ve seen since I’ve been on Tour, and that includes U.S. Opens,\u201d world No. 1 and defending PGA champion Scottie Scheffler said after a 1-over round that left him at -2, two strokes off the clubhouse lead. \u201cIt’s difficult to get the ball close to the hole. But this time, Aronimink had a co-conspirator: the PGA itself, which placed Friday\u2019s pins in what Scottie Scheffler called \u201cabsurd\u201d locations<\/a>.<\/p>\n Need proof? Still at -3, thanks to a wicked combination of wind, undulating greens and those diabolical pin placements.<\/p>\n
