No, this isn\u2019t a prop from the latest Batman movie. This is the new Brabus Bodo\u2014a “Hyper-GT” with over 1,000 horsepower, a price tag well north of a million dollars, and a very serious obsession with the color black. The car is named after the late Brabus<\/a> founder Bodo Buschmann, and it marks a big moment for a company best known for turning Mercedes models into outrageously powerful machines.<\/p>\n

Technically, you can spec the Bodo in any color you want. But chassis number 01 has gone fully blacked out, looking like it escaped from some kind of luxury supervillain garage. Either way, subtlety clearly wasn\u2019t part of the brief.<\/p>\n

The custom body is built entirely from black carbon fiber wrapped around an aluminum structure. Even the airboxes and cam covers use carbon fiber infused with real gold particles\u2014not because anyone needed it, but because it looks amazing. Honestly, that\u2019s exactly the kind of over-the-top detail a car like this should have.<\/p>\n

Under the hood sits a twin-turbocharged 5.2-liter V12 pushing out 1,000 horsepower and 885 pound-feet of torque. Despite weighing in at 4,211 pounds, it still does 0\u201362 miles per hour in just over three seconds and tops out at 224 miles per hour. Somehow, it also manages to remain a proper grand tourer, with usable rear seats, a trunk, and enough comfort for long-distance driving. In a world full of downsized hybrid powertrains, this giant V-12 feels wonderfully out of step with reality.<\/p>\n

The Bodo is clearly based on the Aston Martin Vanquish<\/a>, especially in the window line, but Brabus has completely reshaped its personality. The front end is squarer and more aggressive, while the rear gets a dramatic boat-tail design with an active spoiler that feels vaguely Porsche 911-inspired. Riding on huge 21-inch Monoblock wheels, it almost looks like a modern version of something wild and theatrical, like the 2005 Maybach Excelero.<\/p>\n

Inside, the Aston Martin roots are even more obvious. The infotainment system and switchgear carry over from the Vanquish, including Apple CarPlay Ultra, which is actually a good thing, because it makes the Bodo feel usable instead of gimmicky. Brabus still went to town on the details, adding new leather, carbon trim around the driver display, and extended carbon shift paddles for the eight-speed automatic. There\u2019s also a massive panoramic roof that keeps the cabin from feeling overly dark despite all the black leather and carbon fiber.<\/p>\n

With the Bodo\u2014alongside the previously revealed GTS Coupe based on the SL63\u2014Brabus is continuing its shift from tuner to full-on coachbuilder. Production is limited to 77 cars, a nod to the company\u2019s founding year, 1977, which only adds to the appeal.<\/p>\n

Sure, a million dollars is an absurd amount of money. But for something this dramatic, this rare, and this usable, you can almost see the logic. One thing\u2019s guaranteed: wherever this thing shows up, people are going to stop and stare.<\/p>\n

Motor1’s Take:\u00a0The Brabus Bodo feels completely unnecessary in the best possible way. It\u2019s loud, dramatic, wildly overpowered, and unapologetically excessive\u2014exactly what a modern coachbuilt grand tourer should be.<\/p>\n
