Downtown L.A<\/a>. is now one step closer to a monumental cultural upgrade<\/a>! <\/p>\n

On Wednesday, museum and city officials gathered to celebrate the topping-out of The Broad\u2019s highly anticipated expansion. As Urbanize LA<\/a> reports, the ambitious project is fully on track to welcome visitors before the city<\/a> hosts the 2028 Olympics<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The event, which honored the skill and dedication of the construction team, was marked by a ceremonial<\/a> beam signing before a crane lifted the final piece of steel into place. This action officially completed the new building\u2019s framework<\/a>. The expansion, which broke ground in 2025<\/a>, is designed to dramatically transform the contemporary art museum\u2019s footprint by adding 50,000-square-feet that will increase The Broad\u2019s total gallery space by a massive 70 percent.<\/p>\n

Exciting features inside the expansion<\/p>\n

Here is what you can expect:<\/p>\n

Top-Floor Outdoor Courtyards: Two new open-air, top-floor courtyards will give visitors a scenic place to relax and enjoy art outdoors.<\/p>\n

New Live Programming Space: A flexible ground-floor hub will host boundary-breaking performances, live concerts, multimedia installations, and family workshops.<\/p>\n

Next-Level Vault Views: Visitors will be invited into a dynamic art storage vault equipped with sliding painting racks. Because different works are constantly pulled out, unexpected themes will emerge during every visit.<\/p>\n

70% More Art on View: A massive increase in gallery space will allow the museum to display much more of its growing contemporary collection.<\/p>\n
