Rene\u00e9 Rapp has finally explained why she called out her former show \u201cSex Lives of College Girls\u201d on her latest album.<\/p>\n

While on the \u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d podcast, host Alex Cooper dug into her new album, \u201cBite Me,\u201d and specifically Rapp calling out the HBO Max comedy that she left shortly after the start of Season 3 \u2013 which would also end up being the last season.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe lyric in your new song says, quote, \u2018I took my sex life with me. Now the show ain\u2019t f\u2013king,\u201d Cooper said. \u201cDid anyone try to stop you from putting that lyric in the song?\u201d<\/p>\n

Rapp said nobody put the brakes on the lyrics and Cooper applauded everyone around the singer for letting her write what she wants and not worry about the rest.<\/p>\n

\u201cGod forbid I use wordplay,\u201d Rapp said, laughing. \u201cGod forbid a girl uses wordplay. Look, similar to all the bulls\u2013t, what am I to do if not make music that is genuinely reflective of my life? It just is.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pair also touched on Rapp\u2019s departure from the show. Although Cooper tried multiple ways into the conversation, Rapp played the decision to leave, and all that involved, pretty coy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that sometimes you just know,\u201d Rapp explained. \u201cSometimes you just know. Also, nothing on a set is ever secret. At least it\u2019s really hard to do that. Also, I was the last one finding out about things. I don\u2019t really think anybody cared, to be honest. I\u2019m sure somebody did, but I don\u2019t care.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also joked that she\u2019s signed many NDAs on the matter.<\/p>\n

Rapp played Leighton Murray on \u201cSex Lives of College Girls\u201d for two seasons on HBO Max. In the lead-up to Season 3, it was announced that she would be leaving the show and only appearing in a handful of episodes. Rapp\u2019s character appeared in the first two episodes before deciding to transfer to a new school.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was excited to do this transfer story because, my first year, one of my best friends transferred, and \u2026 that\u2019s part of college that I haven\u2019t seen before \u2014 when someone who\u2019s so important to this aspect of your life is just saying they\u2019re gone,\u201d showrunner Justin Noble told TheWrap back in November. \u201cIt\u2019s really showing that Leighton kind of just figured college out faster than the others, and she\u2019s ready to pursue what\u2019s next.\u201d<\/p>\n
