In this story, an office worker who has always been skinny is really annoyed by her boss\u2019s comments about her weight. Instead of going to HR, she came up with the perfect comeback to shut him down.<\/p>\n
Let\u2019s read all about her unorthodox approach to dealing with her boss.<\/p>\n
I work in an office that is exclusively made up of male coworkers.<\/p>\n
I am 185 cm tall (6.07\u2032) to my 70 kg (154.3 lbs), which means I present as quite skinny.<\/p>\n
To be clear, I do not have any eating disorders or illnesses. I have deduced it to be related to high metabolism.<\/p>\n
Either way, I feel and am perfectly healthy, as confirmed by my GP.<\/p>\n
Someone at work uses this as an excuse to bully her.<\/p>\n
The big boss, let\u2019s call him High Septon, has made some jabs and \u201cplayful jokes,\u201d as he probably would phrase it, regarding my weight. Like calling me \u201csparrow\u201d in my native language, which is normally interpreted as a small, skinny, frail person.<\/p>\n
I don\u2019t really care what he thinks about me personally. He doesn\u2019t know me on a personal level, but it kinda rubbed me the wrong way.<\/p>\n
I may be able to take it, but what about my colleagues? Not everyone has thick skin, and not everyone can shake it off.<\/p>\n
Then she got back at him in a super satisfying way.<\/p>\n
So I decided to \u201cThrow a wrench in there\u201d the next time he brought it up.<\/p>\n
Yesterday, the High Septon came over to my desk and asked me something which, for some reason, led into a discussion about food.<\/p>\n
HS: \u201cSo, are you gonna eat today, Sparrow?\u201d (falsely insinuating that I don\u2019t even eat every day).<\/p>\n
Me: \u201cNah, I\u2019m on a diet, trying to lose weight.\u201d<\/p>\n
HS: \u201cW-what?!\u201d<\/p>\n
Here is where she lets him feel uncomfortable for a while.<\/p>\n
Me: \u201cYeah, been feeling kinda bloated lately, I wanna lose like 10 kg (about 22 lbs).\u201d<\/p>\n
HS: \u201cB-but\u2026you can\u2019t do that! You\u2019re not really on a DIET, are you?!\u201d<\/p>\n
I just shrugged and went back to working.<\/p>\n
He just stared at me, then meeked back to his own desk.<\/p>\n
She has the upper hand now!<\/p>\n
(For clarity, I currently have a BMI of 20.5. The imaginary \u201ctarget\u201d weight I threw at him would put me at 17.5 \u2013 which is way too low. I have absolutely NO plans on losing ANY weight. If anything, I struggle to put on weight)<\/p>\n
He avoided me for the rest of the day, and haven\u2019t looked at me all day today, and best of all; no comments about food or weight.<\/p>\n
If he says something more, I\u2019m gonna call him out.<\/p>\n
