It\u2019s been an eventful month of May for Boston Celtics<\/a> superstar Jaylen Brown.<\/p>\n

After leading their first-round series 3-1, the Celtics lost in seven games to the Philadelphia 76ers. Brown<\/a> then went off on a Twitch stream about NBA officiating, claiming that NBA referees admit that there\u2019s an agenda against him<\/a>. The NBA fined Brown $50,000 for his comments, and he proceeded to double down on his criticism of NBA officiating<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Brown\u2019s comments led to ESPN\u2019s Stephen A. Smith saying on First Take, \u201cHe needs to be quiet. Unless you\u2019re trying to get traded.\u201d<\/p>\n

Additionally, Smith suggested that Celtics star Jayson Tatum<\/a> was on First Take instead of Brown\u2019s Twitch stream due to being frustrated by Brown\u2019s comments.<\/p>\n

Brown fired back<\/a> on May 7 with a post on X: \u201cI\u2019ll \u2018be quiet\u2019 [or] stop streaming if you \u2018be quiet\u2019 and retire. Let\u2019s give the people what they want.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fast-forward to Sunday night, and Brown had a whole lot more to say on his latest Twitch stream about Smith.<\/p>\n

Brown played clips of Smith criticizing him in the May 7 edition of First Take and went off in his commentary, calling for Smith \u2014 \u201cthis motherf*cker\u201d \u2014\u00a0to retire and referring to the ESPN personality as \u201cthe face of clickbait media.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTell this motherf*cker to retire, because he\u2019s the face of clickbait media,\u201d Brown said. \u201cAnd maybe with his retirement, we could spark a movement to get the rest of these motherf*ckers out of here. Or to also have some type of, forget journalistic integrity, actual integrity in order to hold themselves accountable to the bullsh*t takes they put out with no basis, no bias, no information. Just narrative. Just for the sake of just pushing a weak narrative. Just purely out of that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brown also sounded off about Smith questioning why Tatum wasn\u2019t on his Twitch stream.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat type of journalism is this?\u201d Brown asked. \u201cJayson Tatum hasn\u2019t been on my stream, and this is what we\u2019re talking about on First Take? What if [Tatum] just don\u2019t like being somewhere in an uncontrolled environment? Why are you doing journalism on me having guests on my stream? And this is a part of the reason why I started streaming. This is a part of the reason why people use the term \u2018clown,\u2019 and it synchronizes with someone like Stephen A. Smith. Because this is what you\u2019re using your platform for. What are you talking about?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a narrative that he\u2019s creating. This isn\u2019t journalism.\u201d Brown said after showing another clip of Smith. \u201cThis is him making his own opinion and formulizing it about what I have to say, on his platform. And this is why, respectfully, a lot of people say, \u2018F*ck Stephen A.\u2019 Because this is the type of stuff he does, and then he doesn\u2019t recognize it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cF*ck Stephen A!\u201d Brown added.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy offer still stands,\u201d Brown continued. \u201cYou want me to be quiet and stop streaming? Well, I want you to be quiet and get off these networks. Because you\u2019re not using your platform to do real journalism. You\u2019re using your platform to use clickbait.\u201d<\/p>\n

This is the kind of attention that doesn\u2019t drive Smith away, but rather that he thrives on. He signed a new five-year, $100 million contract with ESPN<\/a> last March, and with his ESPN role, his SiriusXM podcast, and his various hits on political programming these days, his media presence has only been increasing, for better or worse. And he\u2019ll surely have a response to Brown\u2019s latest rant.<\/p>\n
