McIlroy bogeyed the 13th hole before making a birdie on the 14th.<\/p>\n
He parred the 15th and then made a mess of the par-five 16th, although he did make par eventually.<\/p>\n
As McIlroy\u2019s hopes of winning slipped away, a fan from the gallery appeared to shout something in McIlroy\u2019s direction after he hit his third shot into the bunker short of the green.<\/p>\n

McIlroy turned around to face the fan and asked security to escort them out of the property.<\/p>\n

There were suggestions that the fan in question simply shouted \u2018USA\u2019 in McIlroy\u2019s direction.<\/p>\n
And if that was the case, that\u2019s pretty poor from McIlroy.<\/p>\n

It hasn\u2019t been confirmed what the fan actually said, so we will reserve our judgement until the Northern Irishman speaks to reporters after his round.<\/p>\n
The PGA Championship at Aronimink will go down as a disappointment for Rory McIlroy in the end.<\/p>\n
