\n\tDean Cain<\/a> says he\u2019s going to be \u201csworn in as an ICE<\/a> agent, ASAP.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe actor, who starred as Clark Kent\/Superman in the 1990s TV series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, revealed Wednesday on Fox News\u2019 Jesse Watters Primetime<\/a> that he\u2019s signed up for Immigration and Customs Enforcement to help carry out President Donald Trump<\/a>\u2018s mass deportation agenda.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI put out a recruitment video yesterday \u2014 I\u2019m actually a sworn deputy sheriff and a reserve police officer \u2014 I wasn\u2019t part of ICE, but once I put that out there and you put a little blurb on your show, it went crazy,\u201d he told host Jesse Watters. \u201cSo now I\u2019ve spoken with some officials over at ICE, and I will be sworn in as an ICE agent, ASAP.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOn Tuesday, Cain posted a video on his Instagram<\/a>, encouraging people to join the federal agency, which ramped up hiring <\/a>after Congress passed a spending bill earlier this summer that gives ICE money to hire 10,000 more staff.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m stepping up,\u201d the actor added. \u201cHopefully, a whole bunch of other former officers, former ICE agents, will step up and we\u2019ll meet those recruitment goals immediately, and we\u2019ll help protect this country.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen Watters asked what inspired him to serve his country, Cain responded, \u201cThis country was built on patriots stepping up, whether it was popular or not, and doing the right thing. I truly believe this is the right thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe continued, \u201cWe have a broken immigration system. Congress needs to fix it, but in the interim, President Trump ran on this. He is delivering on this. This is what people voted for. It\u2019s what I voted for, and he\u2019s going to see it through, and I\u2019ll do my part and help make sure it happens.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAmid ICE\u2019s hiring expansion, Trump has continued to be criticized for his increased immigration raids since returning to the White House, sparking protests<\/a> across the country against what critics call unlawful ICE raids<\/a>. This has also led to legal disputes, including with California Gov.\u00a0Gavin Newsom, over how much control the president has, such as when Trump deployed National Guard troops to Los Angeles earlier this summer over protests.<\/p>\n
