BTS<\/a> has been making time in between its sold-out Stanford Stadium concerts to explore the Bay Area\u00a0\u2014 and one local business in particular won their hearts.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The K-pop boy band visited Vesta, a pizza spot in Redwood City, on Monday, May 11. V, the group\u2019s vocalist known for his love of pizza, later raved about the restaurant during BTS\u2019 first concert.<\/p>\n

\u201cNext time we\u2019re at Stanford, we\u2019ll eat that yummy pizza,\u201d he told the crowd on Saturday, May 16, though he did not specifically name-drop the restaurant. \u201cI think Stanford\u2019s got the best pizza.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Vesta co-owner Peter Borrone told the Chronicle that although the band never explicitly identified the eatery, BTS\u2019 clever ARMY fan base recognized the group was talking about his restaurant and messaged him.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was crazy for them to open up like that,\u201d he said. \u201cThey came in and they loved it \u2026 It was very random.\u201d<\/p>\n

Borrone, who opened Vesta 14 years ago with his wife, Courtney, said that the group came with an entourage of security and parked their SUVs down the street. They sat in the restaurant\u2019s more private back dining room.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey really enjoyed the food,\u201d said Vesta employee Luis Valbivia, who was working on Monday during their visit.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Valbivia noted that they ordered several pizzas including three orders of Vesta\u2019s popular Sausage & Honey pie.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Borrone said that the restaurant hadn\u2019t posted on social media about BTS\u2019 visit yet in hopes the seven-member group would return before their final show on Tuesday, May 19.<\/p>\n

Vesta wasn\u2019t the only local hot spot the band has visited over the past week.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Earlier last week, fans spotted BTS at the Hub Pickleball Club<\/a> in San Jose. Several photos<\/a> and videos<\/a> shared to social media show members dressed down in basketball shorts, baseball caps and hoodies as they faced off against each other.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Then, on Saturday, Jin shared an Instagram<\/a> post of himself eating a churro and pretzel at California\u2019s Great America<\/a>. The post also featured several photos of him sitting on a bench near the amusement park\u2019s iconic double decker Carousel Columbia and in front of several roller coasters.\u00a0<\/p>\n

BTS\u00a0\u2014 made up of Jung Kook, V, Jimin, Suga, RM, Jin and J-Hope\u00a0\u2014 is in the middle of its massive global comeback tour that marks the band\u2019s first full-scale return to performing since 2022. The seven-member group\u2019s string of Stanford shows is its first Bay Area run since their 2018 \u201cLove Yourself\u201d tour stop in Oakland.<\/p>\n

In support of their new album, \u201cArirang,\u201d released on March 20, the tour moves on to Las Vegas next with stops also in Japan, Europe, the United Kingdom, Latin America and Australia.\u00a0<\/p>\n

ARMY members who didn\u2019t have the chance to snag tickets to BTS\u2019 local shows will still have an opportunity to connect with the group this fall, when RM\u2019s personal art collection<\/a> goes on display at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cRM x SFMOMA\u201d is set to open in October and will bring 200 pieces from the musician\u2019s personal collection to San Francisco for the first time.<\/p>\n
