After unveiling it gradually as a recent online treasure hunt for fans, Muse<\/a> have officially released the old-school single \u2018Hexagons\u2019. Check it out below.<\/p>\n

The track is the latest to be released from the band\u2019s 10th album, \u2018The Wow! Signal<\/a>\u2019, following on from last year\u2019s \u2018Unravelling<\/a>\u2018, the epic \u2018Be With You\u2019<\/a>, and apocalyptic \u2018Cryogen<\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n

While Matt Bellamy<\/a> and co. have only just dropped the latest teaser of the record, some may have heard it already as the band launched an online treasure hunt for fans over the weekend \u2013 hiding fragments of the song across the internet, waiting to be discovered.<\/p>\n

Unique codes were hidden in billboards across Sydney, New York, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Paris and London \u2013 and when put together, each fragment spelled out the full version of the song.<\/p>\n

In \u2018Hexagons\u2019, Muse venture back to the sound of their earlier discography, leaning into otherworldly, intricate, electronic instrumentals \u2013 similar to 2001\u2019s \u2018Origin Of Symmetry<\/a>\u2019 \u2013 and pairing it with ethereal falsetto vocals and theatrical elements, like seen in 2006\u2019s \u2018Black Holes And Revelations<\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a marionette with severed strings\/ Gorge on my soul while I\u2019m weak and dying,\u201d Bellamy sings softly in the opening verse, following an epic, intense instrumental section that opens the track.<\/p>\n

It builds up and drops down again before the chorus, with the singer leaning into captivating falsettos and the band around him gradually gaining momentum. \u201cOur\u205fresistance is mass-produced\/ And\u205fshe will ghost write my obsessions,\u201d he sings. \u201cReach out, touch me\/ And draw me from the sixth dimension\/ You have been forcing my hand.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The song aligns with the theme of the record as a whole, which is set to capture \u201ca mix of cosmic mystery, existential hope, and the exhilarating possibility of contact with something far greater than ourselves\u201d.<\/p>\n

The title of the album comes inspired by one of the most compelling interstellar mysteries of the last century \u2013 a powerful 72-second radio burst detected in 1977, which originated from the constellation Sagittarius. Its bandwidth and intensity suggested a possible extraterrestrial source.<\/p>\n

When the anomaly was first discovered, the astronomer famously circled the sequence \u20186EQUJ5\u2019 and wrote \u2018WOW!\u2019 on the printout beside it \u2013 giving the signal its name.<\/p>\n

Muse have also announced a 2026 North American arena tour with Bloc Party, The Temper Trap and Portugal. The Man<\/a>. UK and European dates are expected to be announced shortly, following Bellamy teasing at a recent London gig that the band would \u201cbe back in November\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The band last played in Europe last summer, where they stepped in<\/a> for Kings Of Leon<\/a> to play a a headline set at Madrid\u2019s Mad Cool Festival<\/a>.
