Google said this <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.google\/products-and-platforms\/platforms\/android\/material-3-expressive-android-wearos-launch\/#:~:text=shade.%20We%20even-,subtly%20blur,-the%20shade%20background\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">subtle effect<\/a> provides a \u201csense of depth, so the motion feels lightweight and you\u2019re able to stay aware of the apps you\u2019re using in the background.\u201d As of Android 17 Beta 4, only the widgets picker has gained the blur effects.<\/p>\n<p>Android 17 QPR1 Beta 3 significantly expands this use of translucency, as previously seen <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5google.com\/2026\/05\/14\/android-canary-2605\/\" type=\"post\" id=\"714868\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">in a Canary release<\/a>. The volume slider sees the pill-shaped container become translucent. You can make out your homescreen or the application underneath it.<\/p>\n<p>Tapping the icon at the bottom for the full volume panel is another example of this blurred background.<\/p>\n<p>\tAdvertisement &#8211; scroll for more content<\/p>\n<p>Google themes this translucency with Dynamic Color.
