(Ivan Morozov)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Standard\" style=\"margin-bottom: 8.0pt;\">I don\u2019t usually write about recruits pre-signing day, but Peter Bourque is rare news for the Hokies. The four-star quarterback prospect is not only a one-time Michigan commit, but James Franklin and Co. beat out Georgia for his services.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Standard\" style=\"margin-bottom: 8.0pt;\">Bourque comes from Massachusetts\u2019 Tabor Academy, which went undefeated in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Conference in 2025. The Seawolves were dominant on offense, putting up at least 34 points in every game but one.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Standard\" style=\"margin-bottom: 8.0pt;\">Bourque was the key. The first thing that jumped out at me was that he knows where the ball needs to go, and for the most part, he got it there. He\u2019s got a great understanding of the field.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Standard\" style=\"margin-bottom: 8.0pt;\">Take your eyes off the ball and watch the receivers, and you\u2019ll see he\u2019s usually hitting the guy who\u2019s the best combination of \u201cdeep\u201d and \u201copen.\u201d When things got compressed in the red zone and guys were covered, he consistently put the ball in spots where only the receivers could catch it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/thehokieway\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-7744835 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/virginiatech.sportswar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2024\/06\/TheHokieWay-June-2024-TSL-1000x200-Super-Banner.png\" alt=\"thehokieway\" width=\"1000\" height=\"200\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"In the modern era of recruiting, Peter Bourque is the fifth highest-ranked quarterback commit at Virginia Tech.
