(WPVI) &#8212; Police in South Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania, pitched in to take a bear into custody.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Officers responded to a call about the bear near the Lehigh County soccer fields early Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The bear was captured thanks to what police say was a &#8220;quick and coordinated effort with wildlife officials.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">&#8220;He was safely loaded into a transport culvert trap and is currently on his way to be relocated to a much more suitable, wooded habitat far away from our sports complexes,&#8221; South Whitehall police <a class=\"zZygg UbGlr iFzkS qdXbA WCDhQ DbOXS tqUtK GpWVU iJYzE \" data-testid=\"prism-linkbase\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/southwhitehallpd\/posts\/pfbid02pFXKSp7caMfygruitjJtU3gU99RPDg7rbRMHnVyaf5BnPo2snUpVHnHjsfM257S4l\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">wrote in a Facebook post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC eTIW sUzSN \">Both the bear and the officers are safe and unharmed, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2026 WPVI-TV.
