WASHINGTON \u2014 President Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s RSVP to his son\u2019s wedding this weekend is still pending.<\/p>\n

Speaking to reporters at the White House<\/a> on Thursday, Trump said that because of the Iran war and \u201cother things,\u201d he wasn\u2019t sure whether he\u2019d be attending the nuptials of Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Anderson.<\/p>\n

Asked by NBC News whether he would be in attendance, the president said it \u201cis not good timing for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019d like me to go,\u201d Trump said of his eldest son. \u201cBut it\u2019s going to be just a small, little private affair, and I\u2019m going to try and make it. I\u2019m in the midst \u2014 I said, you know, this is not good timing for me. I have a thing called Iran and other things. That\u2019s one I can\u2019t win on.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump added that either way, he would be attacked by the media.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I do attend, I get killed. If I don\u2019t attend, I get killed, by the fake news, of course,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Still, the president wished the couple luck.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s got a very \u2014 a person who I\u2019ve known for a long time, and hopefully they are going to have a great marriage,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n

The wedding is set to take place on Saturday in the Bahamas, Page Six reported<\/a>. Trump\u2019s weekend schedule, released by the White House after his remarks Thursday, indicated he will be in Bedminster, New Jersey, on Saturday.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Donald Trump Jr. did not immediately respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n

Anderson and the younger Trump announced their engagement during a White House holiday party in December, with Trump Jr. calling it a \u201cbig win\u201d as the president stood behind the couple.<\/p>\n

Trump Jr. was married to Vanessa Trump for 13 years and has two children with her. <\/a>He was previously engaged to Kimberly Guilfoyle, whom the president appointed as U.S. ambassador to Greece in 2025 after she parted ways with Trump Jr.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"WASHINGTON \u2014 President Donald Trump\u2019s RSVP to his son\u2019s wedding this weekend is still pending.
