I don’t really know how to measure them, so I’m just guessing. I have numbers dyslexia — I just don’t like to even think about numbers. This time, they’re too long. So now I have to go back and get them a little shorter but not as short as before.

After the hardware store — I get the screws and put them in my pocket — Soufi and I go to the lake, where she runs around and I just sit there and watch her. So cute. Then we go home, Karina is done with class, and I try to put the screws in, which doesn’t work, and I get frustrated, so I go out to the yard and kill some weeds. I have an invasive Japanese-knotweed situation. There’s a whole patch of it, and it’s growing fast.

I’m craving cacio e pepe, so Karina makes it for the first time ever, plus a Parmesan asparagus salad. It’s fucking good. Sadly, I don’t cook. When I was single, I would eat out three times a day for every meal, every day. I usually just sit there and drink wine or beer while she cooks, but I have other jobs — killing the weeds, attempting to find the right screws.

          EAT LIKE THE EXPERTS.

Sign up for the Grub Street newsletter.

Vox Media, LLC Terms and Privacy Notice

By submitting your email, you agree to our Terms and Privacy Notice and to receive email correspondence from us.

See All

Illustration: Margalit Cutler You may know Kareem Rahma from riding the subway, but he spent the past week…

[57
283687,236,88,283685,143434,283688,113648,283686,283684,2443,9280
post-658483","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-celebrities","tag-blue-ribbon-brasserie","tag-celebrities","tag-entertainment","tag-kareem-rahma","tag-mezze-platter","tag-minetta-tavern","tag-subway","tag-subway-takes","tag-the-grub-street-diet","tag-top-story","tag-youtube
["GET
