{"id":659883,"date":"2026-05-23T05:36:09","date_gmt":"2026-05-23T05:36:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/659883\/"},"modified":"2026-05-23T05:36:09","modified_gmt":"2026-05-23T05:36:09","slug":"daytime-broadcast-ratings-for-the-week-of-april-27","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/659883\/","title":{"rendered":"Daytime Broadcast Ratings for the Week of April 27"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Need To Know<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Bold and the Beautiful\u201d continued to rank No. 1 among soaps in Women 18-49.<\/p>\n<p>The game shows \u201cThe Price is Right\u201d and \u201cLet\u2019s Make a Deal\u201d saw massive year-over-year gains among Total Viewers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTODAY with Jenna &amp; Sheinelle\u201d saw the largest week-to-week and year-over-year gains across daytime broadcast in key demos, up substantially from \u201cTODAY with Jenna &amp; Friends.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During the week of April 27 \u2013 May 1, 2026, \u201cTODAY with Jenna &amp; Sheinelle\u201d continued to outperform the year-ago performance of its predecessor \u201cTODAY with Jenna &amp; Friends,\u201d both demographically and among Total Viewers, plus CBS\u2019 annual preemption of \u201cBeyond the Gates\u201d and \u201cLet\u2019s Make a Deal\u201d  on Tuesday, April 28 and Wednesday, April 29, due to UEFA Champions League games, had surprising results, both positively.<\/p>\n<p>For the week, \u201cTODAY with Jenna &amp; Sheinelle\u201d (1.525 million) was up +0.03 and +0.04 week-to-week, respectively, among Women 18-49 (0.25 rating vs. 0.22 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.36 rating vs. 0.32 rating). Compared to the year-ago performance of its predecessor, \u201cTODAY with Jenna &amp; Friends,\u201d the fourth hour of the \u201cTODAY\u201d franchise was up +0.08 among Women 18-49 (0.25 rating vs. 0.17 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.36 rating vs. 0.28 rating), with the news program tying its season high in the latter. Among Total Viewers, the hour was up +42,000 week-to-week (vs. 1.483 million) and +386,000 year-over-year (vs. 1.139 million).<\/p>\n<p>Despite an unusual week, wherein the game show was preempted on Tuesday, April 28 and Wednesday, April 29 for UEFA Champions League coverage, and Nielsen excluding the Monday, April 27 broadcast altogether, the half hours of \u201cLet\u2019s Make a Deal\u201d saw across the board year-over-year gains, with the second half-hour up +0.07 among Women 18-49 (0.24 rating vs. 0.17 rating), up +0.03 among Women 25-54 (0.33 rating vs. 0.30 rating), and up an astonishing +416,000 viewers (2.559 million vs. 2.143 million). The first half-hour was up +0.01 among Women 18-49 (0.17 rating vs. 0.16 rating) and up +119,000 viewers (2.002 million vs. 1.883 million).<\/p>\n<p> \u201cThe Bold and the Beautiful\u201d (2.795 million) ranked No. 1 among soaps in Women 18-49 (0.26 rating) for the 20th in 32 weeks, including ties, and was up +0.01 week-to-week and +0.02 year-over-year in the demo. It was also up +0.01 week-to-week among Women 25-54 (0.39 rating), and just shy of tying \u201cThe Young and the Restless\u201d (0.40 rating). Among Total Viewers, the half-hour drama series was up +38,000 week-to-week (vs. 2.757 million), a staggering +398,000 year-over-year (vs. 2.397 million) and a good +157,000 over its performance in 2024 (vs. 2.638 million).<\/p>\n<p>Though it placed second among soaps in Women 18-49 (0.25 rating), \u201cThe Young and the Restless\u201d (3.143 million) was up +0.01 week-to-week and flat with its year-ago performance (0.25 rating). Among Total Viewers, the long-running drama series was up +20,000 week-to-week (vs. 3.123 million) and up +299,000 year-over-year (vs. 2.844 million). This was the 14th consecutive week in which the soap opera averaged more than three million viewers, and the series was up +151,000 viewers compared with its performance in 2024 (vs. 2.9992 million).<\/p>\n<p>Excluding the week of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.soapoperanetwork.com\/2025\/10\/daytime-broadcast-ratings-for-the-week-of-september-29-october-3-2025\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.soapoperanetwork.com\/2025\/10\/daytime-broadcast-ratings-for-the-week-of-september-29-october-3-2025\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">September 29 \u2013 October 3, 2025<\/a>, which saw ABC factor in repeat broadcasts of the daytime drama despite the soap opera being preempted in most markets due to Major League Baseball Wild Card Series game coverage on the network, \u201cGeneral Hospital\u201d (1.809 million) set a new season and series low among Women 25-54 (0.20 rating), and attracted its third smallest audience of the season, down 168,000 viewers week-to-week (vs. 1.977 million). On the positive side, the long-running series was up +0.02 week-to-week among Women 18-49 (0.18 rating vs. 0.16 rating), and up +39,000 viewers year-over-year (vs. 1.770 million).<\/p>\n<p>Flat with its week-ago performance among Women 18-49 (0.15 rating), \u201cBeyond the Gates\u201d (1.655 million) saw week-to-week and year-over-year gains among Total Viewers, up +42,000 (vs. 1.613 million) and +167,000 (vs. 1.488 million), respectively, despite being preempted for UEFA Champions League coverage on Tuesday, April 28 and Wednesday, April 29. The soap opera marked its eighth consecutive week of year-over-year gains among Total Viewers, and its largest overall to date. It\u2019s also up +413,000 viewers versus the comparable 2024 performance of the former occupant of the time slot, \u201cThe Talk,\u201d which averaged just 1.242 million viewers at the time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Price is Right,\u201d which was the only CBS daytime series not impacted by UEFA Champions League coverage coast-to-coast, continued to lead across every category, though both half hours saw minor week-to-week declines in the key demos. Among Total Viewers, the second half-hour (4.377 million) was up +83,000 week-to-week and a massive +560,000 year-over-year. The first half-hour (3.859 million) was up +62,000 viewers week-to-week and an amazing +512,000 year-over-year.
