Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been named the Premier League Player of the Season.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The 31-year-old has scored eight goals and equalled the record for most assists in a single campaign alongside Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne with 20.<\/p>\n
He wins the award for the first time in his career and becomes the first United player since Nemanja Matic in 2010\/11 to receive the honour.<\/p>\n
He is the seventh player to win the award at United, with the list of names also including Peter Schmeichel, Dwight Yorke, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney.<\/p>\n
Fernandes had already secured the FWA Footballer of the Year award and now adds another accolade to a historic season after helping United secure Champions League football.<\/p>\n
