Caitlin Clark<\/a> and the Indiana Fever<\/a> escaped Friday night with a huge 90-82 win over the Golden State Valkyries<\/a>, but the game nearly spiraled into complete chaos along the way. The matchup quickly turned physical, emotional, and increasingly tense as the night progressed. Clark found herself in the middle of several heated moments throughout the contest, including an exchange with Golden State forward Janelle Salaun near halftime that eventually led to a technical foul.<\/p>\n

The surprising part? Clark apparently had no idea she had even been called for one. Following the game, Clark was asked about the technical during her postgame media session, and her immediate reaction quickly grabbed attention online.<\/p>\n

\u201cDid I get a technical?\u201d Clark said with visible surprise before reporters confirmed the call. \u201cOh no way. Clark later joked that the officiating-heavy night would likely cost her financially as well.<\/p>\n
