Israeli aircraft carried out extensive airstrikes in
\nsouthern Lebanon, the Israeli military announced on Monday, adding that the strikes
\ntargeted sites belonging to Hezbollah.<\/p>\n

In a statement, the Israeli military said strikes<\/a> targeted
\naround 10 Hezbollah command centers and weapons depots in the Tyre area of
\nsouthern Lebanon, noting that \u201cforces had struck more than 70 Hezbollah-linked
\nsites across different parts of Lebanon during the day.\u201d <\/p>\n

Local Lebanese sources reported that overnight strikes
\ntargeted towns in the Nabatieh, Bint Jbeil, Tyre and the western Bekaa Valley, killing
\nat least five people in the town of Mashghara.<\/p>\n

The Israeli army\u2019s Northern Command chief, Major General
\nRafi Milo, stated earlier that military operations against Hezbollah would
\nintensify during the night and in the coming days.<\/p>\n

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also cited plans
\nto increase military pressure in Lebanon and carry out stronger strikes against
\nHezbollah. \u201cWe will increase the scale of our strikes against
\nHezbollah,\u201d Netanyahu vowed, highlighting that Israel had formed a special team
