{"id":665408,"date":"2026-05-26T04:59:37","date_gmt":"2026-05-26T04:59:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/665408\/"},"modified":"2026-05-26T04:59:37","modified_gmt":"2026-05-26T04:59:37","slug":"ringhavers-donate-75-million-to-mayo-clinic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/665408\/","title":{"rendered":"Ringhavers donate $75 million to Mayo Clinic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of St. Johns County\u2019s most prominent families has made an unprecedented $75 million gift to Mayo Clinic, honoring the infant son they lost more than four decades ago, the hospital <a href=\"https:\/\/newsnetwork.mayoclinic.org\/discussion\/paula-and-randy-ringhaver-give-75-million-to-mayo-clinic-in-florida\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">announced Thursday.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The seismic gift from St. Augustine philanthropists and business leaders <a href=\"https:\/\/sjcitizen.com\/ring-of-honor-prominent-local-family-donates-1700-st-johns-county-acres-for-preservation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Paula and Randy Ringhaver <\/a>will support the facility\u2019s \u201cBold. Forward. Unbound.\u201d initiative, which aims to propel healthcare through new technology and upgraded infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The newly expanded hospital tower at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville will be named the Lee Ringhaver Tower, in memory of the couple\u2019s son, Randal \u201cLee\u201d Ringhaver Jr., who died in 1980 at just 8\u00bd months old after battling  leukemia.<\/p>\n<p><img data-od-added-loading=\"\" data-od-removed-fetchpriority=\"high\" data-od-replaced- loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/mayo-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Exterior of hospital\" class=\"wp-image-20210\"   data-eio=\"p\"\/>The Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhen we walk into the tower, we feel optimism and confidence,\u201d Paula Ringhaver told Mayo. \u201cIt symbolizes growth and progress. We believe in what Mayo Clinic is building here, and we trust that Lee\u2019s legacy will live on through the care and hope this tower represents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Ringhaver family, founders of the heavy equipment company Ring Power, has a longstanding relationship with Mayo Clinic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Randy Ringhaver\u2019s father, L.C. \u201cRing\u201d Ringhaver, received treatment at the famed provider\u2019s Minnesota campus and quickly became a prolific backer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Several other members of the family, as well as Ring Power employees, have also received care there.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe\u2019ve seen firsthand the value of having Mayo Clinic\u2019s expertise close to home for our family and for Ring Power employees,\u201d Randy Ringhaver said. \u201cThis gift reflects the values our company was built on, including giving back to the communities we serve, and it demonstrates our confidence in Mayo Clinic\u2019s future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Lee Ringhaver Tower will be the centerpiece of an ongoing Mayo Clinic\u2019s Jacksonville expansion. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A five-story addition opened to patients in 2025, adding 121 rooms along with advanced technologies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The expansion includes capacity for three additional floors.<\/p>\n<p><img data-od-added-loading=\"\" data-od-replaced- loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/ringh-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Couple on a boat.\" class=\"wp-image-18424\"   data-eio=\"p\"\/>Paula and Randy Ringhaver. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cPhilanthropy makes it possible for us to build the future of healthcare,\u201d said Dr. Kent Thielen, CEO of Mayo Clinic in Florida. \u201cWe are deeply grateful to Paula and Randy for their extraordinary generosity and trust. Their gift will change lives \u2014 now and for generations to come \u2014 in our community and around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The family recently donated more than 1,700 acres of raw natural land in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sjcitizen.com\/major-land-donation-will-protect-400-pristine-amelia-island-acres-i-cant-see-it-being-developed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">St. Johns County<\/a> to the North Florida Land Trust be permanently protected.<\/p>\n<p><img data-od-added-loading=\"\" data-od-replaced- loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/ringg-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18425\"   data-eio=\"p\"\/>A map of the property.
