\n\tLeo Woodall<\/a> may be journeying to fantastical locales with his foray into Middle-earth, but his casting in the continuation of The Lord of the Rings<\/a> saga is planted firmly in the realm of reality. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe Vladimir star recently opened up to People<\/a> about his casting, saying, \u201cIt means everything. It\u2019s a boyhood dream for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe continued, \u201cI watched it as a kid and I\u2019ve seen it a million times, so to be part of it now is incredible.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAs is standard, Woodall told the magazine he \u201ccan\u2019t tease anything\u201d about the project, which will bow in theaters<\/a> Dec. 17, 2027. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe Tuner actor\u2019s involvement in The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum<\/a> was announced by Warner Bros.<\/a>\u00a0at CinemaCon back in April,<\/a> alongside fellow new castmember Jamie Dornan. The former will play Halvard, a new D\u00fanedain character not present in J. R. R. Tolkien\u2019s original tomes, while the latter will portray Strider \u2014 the alias used by Aragorn (played by Viggo Mortensen in the 2000s film trilogy).<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition to Woodall and Dornan, the movie will also feature Kate Winslet, joining in the role of Marigol. Reprising their roles in the franchise are director Andy Serkis as Gollum, Elijah Wood as Frodo and Ian McKellen as Gandalf. Lee Pace is also back as Thranduil.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Hunt for Gollum\u00a0follows Aragorn\u2019s perilous quest to capture Gollum before the creature can reveal the Ring\u2019s location to Sauron. The story, much of it developed from Tolkien\u2019s footnotes, is set between\u00a0The Hobbit\u00a0and\u00a0The Fellowship of the Ring.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe new installment will reunite the Oscar-winning team behind\u00a0The\u00a0Lord of the Rings\u00a0and\u00a0The Hobbit\u00a0trilogies\u00a0\u2014 Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens\u00a0\u2014 as they produce two new films for Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema.\u00a0Zane Weiner is also producing.\u00a0Walsh and Boyens are writing the screenplay, along with Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou.<\/p>\n

\n\tWoodall first broke out in The White Lotus Season 2 and Netflix\u2019s limited series adaptation of One Day.
