{"id":666651,"date":"2026-05-26T20:04:13","date_gmt":"2026-05-26T20:04:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/666651\/"},"modified":"2026-05-26T20:04:13","modified_gmt":"2026-05-26T20:04:13","slug":"appleton-man-pays-fine-for-damaging-avenue-of-ice-sculpture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/666651\/","title":{"rendered":"Appleton man pays fine for damaging Avenue of Ice sculpture"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>APPLETON (WLUK) \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/fox11online.com\/news\/local\/appleton-man-cited-for-vandalizing-avenue-of-ice-sculpture-citation-downtown-college-camera-police-department-investigation-judgement-ordinance-violation-center-suicide-awareness-heart-krystal-kleer-donation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">The man who damaged a downtown ice sculpture <\/a>pleaded no contest and paid the $389.50 fine, court records show.<\/p>\n<p>Kolbe Gelvin, 21, was cited for damage to property <a href=\"https:\/\/fox11online.com\/news\/local\/appleton-police-seek-suspect-caught-on-camera-destroying-suicide-awareness-ice-sculpture-college-avenue-vandalism-surveillance-image-video\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">for the Feb. 22 incident.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Gelvin was caught on camera picking up the ice sculpture, which depicted two hands making the shape of a heart, and throwing it to the ground. The piece was sponsored by the Center for Suicide Awareness, a Kaukauna-based nonprofit, as part of the annual Avenue of Ice event on College Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>Police say it cost $425 for the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.centerforsuicideawareness.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> Center for Suicide Awareness<\/a> to have the sculpture made.
